WASHINTGON, D.C. (KT) – Pregnancy resource centers nationwide have operated in a shifting reproductive healthcare landscape since Roe v. Wade was overturned in June 2022, continuing to provide services such as parenting education, material support, pregnancy testing and ultrasounds. Those free services totaled $358,725,517 in 2022.
That’s according to Hope for a New Generation, a collaboration of survey data provided by the Charlotte Lozier Institute, Care Net, Heartbeat International and National Institute of Family and Life Advocates.
Material goods—including diapers, wipes, baby clothing, formula, car seats, cribs and strollers—accounted for $78,580,127.

Hope for a New Generation, which surveyed 2,750 pregnancy resource centers (PRCs) nationwide, broke down the remaining $280M by services offered to clients, which included, but were not limited to:
- More than 700,000 free pregnancy tests administered, worth $6.3M
- 517,557 ultrasounds performed, valued at $150.9M when including the hours of work required by trained medical professionals to provide the free service
- $5.6M in STD/STI tests provided to 203,171 clients
- A little more than 408,000 clients attended parenting education programs valued at over $75M
- Nearly 20,000 clients received after-abortion support, which was worth just shy of $3M
PRCs met with clients, in-person and virtually, more than 16 million times in 2022, and 97.4% of self-reported feedback from clients signaled a positive experience or satisfaction. More than 974,000 new clients consulted with the centers nationwide.
Across the surveyed PRCs, 71.8% of a reported 62,576 workers were volunteers in 2022. Licensed medical staff and licensed medical volunteers accounted for 10,175 of those serving in local centers.
Nationally, 89.2% of PRCs offered material items, 87.7% provided parenting and prenatal education, 81.9% offered ultrasounds.
